Inspiring Artist

Anna Armona is a young artist whose works are full of bright colors that pop out on the page. Alison Johnson is an English artist who uses color and lack of color in her paintings to create a magical atmosphere. Through a series of layering and blurring, Johnson makes beautiful paintings that express different emotions.  More of her work can be seen on her website

Rebecca Law is an English installation artist who uses natural materials in her works.  She is well known for creating a fairyland-like feel in her art by transforming a space with hanging flowers from ceilings or grids.  More information about Law’s work can be found on her website

Donna Hollon is a local artist from back home who uses acrylic paints to create beautiful pieces of art.  She is inspiring to me not only because she is a talented artist but because she has given me a cornucopia of good advice over the years and has acted like a second mother to me.

Leonardo Drew is an American sculpture artist who uses new and different materials to create a challenge and to keep his imagination flowing.  He has a technique of harboring and changing material until they are needed in one of his projects.  His work consists of many objects that add detail to a larger piece of art.

Wolfgang Laib is a German artist whose work is inspired by other cultures and nature.  Laib grew up in a family that was very appreciative of cultures different from their own.  His work then incorporates these cultures to show a respect and admirations for different worldly views and beliefs. Shai Kremer is an Israeli photographer whose photos are both haunting and beautiful. Most of Kremer’s works consist of abandon terrains which evoke feelings of loss, loneliness, beauty, and hope as seen on his website: Currently his works titled Concrete Abstract (which is centered around the world trade center), Fallen Empires, and Infected Landscapes are being shown at the Julie Saul Gallery on 535 W. 22nd Street in New York City.  The photographs below are a few examples of his work.
