Michelle MacNaught (1990-2011) was an inspiration to everyone around her. Before dying of cancer at the age of 21 she was an art student whose ambition was to become a teacher. Her art ranged from beautiful landscapes to emotional wood cuts that expressed her feelings about her illness. Michelle gave me the strength to become an art study and follow my dreams. Life is short so why not spend it doing something you love?
Vincent Van Gogh (1853-1890) was a Dutch painter who was not recognized for this talents until after his death. A variety of things can be said about Van Gogh and his art work. Many thought him to be crazy or ill whereas others view him as misunderstood and lonely. Despite what any one says about the artist himself, his work is truly inspiring.
Wassily Kandinsky (1866-1944) was a famous Russian painter who dove into the abstract. His work is full of vibrant colors that jump off of the canvas at you. From blending paints, to crisp lines, and to choppy paint strokes, Kandinsky experimented with them all to create a range of art for the varied tastes of his audience.
Claude Monet (1840-1926) as many of you must know, was a famous French artist who is considered to be the founder of impressionist paintings. His paintings often consist of vibrant landscape painting. Monet’s technique and color use is what most impresses me; creating a blurry, out of focus painting that leads your imagination into a world of your own.

Wolfgang Laib is a German artist whose work is inspired by other cultures and nature. Laib grew up in a family that was very appreciative of cultures different from their own. His work then incorporates these cultures to show a respect and admirations for different worldly views and beliefs. Aside from the appreciation of culture, Laib also shows an appreciation for nature and incorporates natural items such as bees wax and pollen into his work.
Lee Bul is a Korean artist who works with installation pieces made of shiny materials, plastic, metal, and an arrange of others. Shai Kremer is an Israeli photographer whose photos are both haunting and beautiful.
